OUR STORY
Magnetic Coaching™ began as lived experience.
It became a system because the pattern kept repeating.
Long before Magnetic Coaching™ existed as a framework or certification, a consistent pattern appeared across gyms and teams in North America.
CJ would step into new environments—and something predictable would happen.
Athletes leaned in.
Groups settled.
Standards held.
Connection formed quickly.
It wasn’t accidental.
And it wasn’t location-specific.
It was repeatable.
While coaching in Tennessee, CJ said something simple:
“I don’t know exactly what I do… but wherever I go, the kids buy in.”
That observation changed everything.
Instead of treating connection as instinct, we studied it as behavior.
What was consistent?
What was deliberate?
What could be named and taught?
What emerged wasn’t personality. It wasn’t charisma.
It was alignment.
High standards paired with high support.
Firmness with flexibility.
Confidence grounded in humility.
The environment stabilized.
A current formed.
Athletes responded — consistently.
As that pattern repeated across ages, sports, and competitive levels, one question became central:
How does belief form inside a coaching environment — and how does it hold under pressure?
Connection, language, and balanced leadership were not “soft skills.”
They shaped how athletes experienced correction, handled mistakes, and committed over time.
The pattern became a framework.
The framework became a system.
Magnetic Coaching™ was built to make that current visible — and repeatable.
High-Performance Coach
With more than 20 years coaching gymnastics across North America, CJ is known for building connection without lowering standards.
Four-time Olympic coach and six-time Olympian David Kikuchi has said CJ would be his first choice to coach his own children — reflecting the philosophy that later became Magnetic Coaching™.
CJ was living the Pull Current long before it had a name.
Educator · Coach · System Builder
Ryan has spent decades competing, coaching, and working in performance environments — studying what sustains growth when preparation meets pressure.
He translated lived experience into structure — turning the Pull Current™ into a teachable, repeatable system coaches can apply deliberately.
Mission
Create development environments where people and performance thrive together.
Vision
The environmental standard for modern coaching systems.
It strengthens technical development, strategy, Safe Sport, LTAD, and existing systems.
Connection isn’t everything.
But without alignment, nothing holds for long.
